My Simple Everyday Skincare Routine

This simple everyday skincare routine is something that I put together over years with the help of trusted aestheticians and my dermatologist Dr. Marnie Nussbaum. These products were specifically chosen for my skin type, which I’d describe as dry and combination, but with what I’ve learned about them I am confident that they’ll work with a number of other skin types as they all focus on light, non-comedogenic hydration and gentle exfoliation.

I find that my skin needs a lot of hydration, and is definitely prone to hormonal blemish flare ups (chic!). I need to drink more water in general, but that’s another challenge entirely! I also have English and Irish ancestry so sun protection and keeping my skin properly moisturized are top priorities for me.

The Ordinary Squalane Oil

A facialist recommended this product to me after I mentioned how much I love facial oils. This is extremely light and highly effective and creating a nourishing base for your skin. I use this squalane oil as the first step in my skincare routine. The Ordinary has a great line of products that are affordable, which is a big bonus!

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid

I follow my squalane oil application with this hyaluronic acid serum. This has B5 in it which offers up an extra dose of hydration. I use this year round but find that my skin needs it even more in the winter – I am NOT shy with applying this product and love using the dropper – I use about half a dropper each application.

U Beauty The Super Hydrator

The third step in my day to day morning skincare routine is this Super Hydrator by U Beauty. I’d best describe it as a thin, somewhat watery moisturizer. I love the consistency of it and think it’s fantastic for really penetrating my skin and gives my face an immediate supple bounce. It leaves my skin with a very radiant, plump texture and I appreciate that it’s fragrance free (which is important if you have sensitive skin like me!). I also love the other products in the line, including the Super Hydrator for Body.

Dr. Marnie Nussbaum Ultra Light Moisturizer

I think simplicity is key when it comes to a good moisturizer. This one is made by my dermatologist and I love that it’s not packed with too many ingredients – just essential, powerful elements. I feel like it really locks all the products in my skin and it definitely helps my skin to feel nourished and protected.

Supergoop! Daily Dose Hydra-Ceramide Boost SPF

This is another oil-based serum that I incorporate into my daily routine. I’d consider this one of my most multi-functional skincare products because it offers so many benefits—it’s great for fine lines, wrinkles, dehydrated skin, and it has SPF. I also love that it’s packaged in a dropper (which in addition to just being fun to use, always makes me think of old school pharmacies).

EltaMD UV Clear Sunscreen

I often use this EltaMD sunscreen on top of the Supergoop just for extra protection. It goes on so smooth and doesn’t leave your complexion with a white cast. It’s also a particularly great choice if you have acne prone skin since it’s formulated with niacinamide.

Supergoop! Hand Screen SPF 40

I like to incorporate a hand sunscreen in my daily routine because hands are often neglected when it comes to skincare. They can age quickly because they’re exposed to the sun so often, especially if you drive.

BeautyBio GloPRO Prep Pads

I use these GloPRO Prep Pads as step one of my skincare routine if I’m having an active breakout. I also use them as the first step for my nighttime skincare routine. They’re specifically made for people who are dealing with pesky blemishes and congested pores. Your skin will feel so refreshed after using these.
